It
has been over 50 years since I had char siew rice and lately I kept thinking of
the food that I had in my childhood. This dish was a treat that we used to get
when we were young for good results in school.
Ingredients
Char
siew
Fried
shallots
Put
1 tbsp oil used for frying the shallots into the rice in the rice cooker
Add
2 tbsp fried shallots into the cooked rice
Mix
thoroughly
Put
a layer of char siew into the bowl
Spoon
the cooked rice on top of the char siew and press it down tightly
Place
the prepared into the steamer
Cover
and steam for 10 minutes
Remove
and let it cool down a little
Place
a plate over the rice
Turn
the plate over and remove the bowl
Drizzle
some of the char siew sauce over the char siew and rice
Serve
with stir fried vegetables
