Have some leftover rice so decided to try
something different instead of frying it. I rummaged in the fridge and found
some ham and cheese so thought I’ll try making baked rice for a change. It turned
out very nice but I think the next time I cook it I will add some vegetables to
make it more wholesome.
Ingredients
Cooked rice
1 packet mixed grated cheese
1 onion
150 gm sliced ham
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
Tear the ham into small pieces
Dice the onion
Melt 1 knob of butter
Add the onion and mix well with the butter
Add 2 tsp chopped garlic
Put in the ham and mix well
Turn off the fire and keep aside
Put the tomato ketchup, 1 tsp salt and pepper
into a bowl and mix well
Put the cooked rice into a large mixing bowl
Pour the diluted ketchup onto the rice
Mix thoroughly
Add the fried ingredients and ½ the cheese
Mix thoroughly
Transfer the rice into an oven proof dish
Layer the remaining cheese on top of the rice
Put the dish into the preheated oven
Bake at 180 celsius until the cheese is
slightly brown
Remove from the oven and let it cool
Dish out and serve with a salad or other
cooked vegetables
