Herbal chicken with fish maw soup

After all the hectic preparations for the Chinese New Year, it is time to have some revitalising chicken soup. Today I am trying out the A1 brand. I prefer to use the sachet type because the children like it when the flavour is less strong compared to using the actual herbs and it is cleaner. The verdict is everyone loved it so will use it again.

Ingredients



2 chicken whole legs cut into bite size pieces
1 piece fish maw
1 packet herbal soup





Soak the fish maw until soft





Put the required amount of water into the inner pot of the thermal cooker

When the water is boiling add the 2 herbal sachets and simmer for 1 hour





Wash and drain the chicken





When the soup smells fragrant add the chicken, kei chi, red dates and yuk chuk

Let it simmer for another 30 min






Cut the fish maw and add to the soup and bring to a boil







Cover and transfer into the outer pot







Close the lid and let it cook
The soup will be ready in about 5 – 6 hours
